Adelita's Taqueria & Bar

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Adelita's Taqueria & Bar is a long-running San Jose taquería whose owner previously cooked at La Taqueria in San Francisco.

Overview

Time Out's 2021 guide to San Jose Mexican food reported that Adelita's had been open for more than 20 years and that its owner, Felipe, had been a chef at La Taqueria, the Mission District landmark. The menu reaches beyond tacos to a Chilean churrasco torta, a seafood stew and enchiladas in tomatillo sauce, and it includes several vegan options.

Context

La Taqueria, where the owner once worked, is among the best-known taquerías in the Bay Area, and alumni of established kitchens have opened many of the region's neighborhood spots. The churrasco, a Chilean sandwich of thin-sliced beef, is an unusual addition to a Mexican taquería menu. Sources consulted do not give a street address or exact founding year.
