Aguachiles El Tamarindo

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Aguachiles El Tamarindo is a Sinaloan seafood truck with outdoor seating on International Boulevard in Oakland's Fruitvale district, also known for its birria tacos.

Overview

The truck follows the tradition of the Sinaloan mariscos stand, a genre built around raw and lightly cured seafood. Its namesake aguachiles, shrimp cured in lime juice with chile and served very cold, share the menu with ceviches and stacked seafood towers. Customers eat at outdoor tables set up beside the truck.

Tacos

Despite the seafood focus, the truck appears in the Infatuation's 2026 guide to the best birria tacos in San Francisco and Oakland. Its birria tacos are built on corn tortillas with a measured amount of cheese relative to the stewed beef, so the meat rather than the melted crust takes the lead. The truck is one of several Fruitvale businesses that have made International Boulevard a destination for regional Mexican seafood and birria.
