Overview

Thomas Ortega grew up in Cerritos, in southeast Los Angeles County, and the MICHELIN Guide describes his cooking as drawing on traditional Mexican technique and on his experience growing up Chicano in Los Angeles. A live tortilla station near the entrance turns out handmade tortillas. The 2026 MICHELIN Guide USA lists the restaurant as a Bib Gourmand, and the guide also features it in a roundup of Southern California's best tacos.

Tacos de mi abuela, crisp tacos filled with a mix of beef and chorizo and topped with cotija, crema and salsa de árbol, are the signature. Other items include a grilled salmon taco glazed with chipotle and agave and a birria "pizza" built on a large flour tortilla with Oaxaca cheese and consomé. Cocktails are part of the offering.
