Autentica Comida Latina

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Autentica Comida Latina is a taco truck in San Francisco's NoPa neighborhood known for generous cabeza tacos.

Overview

The San Francisco Standard listed Autentica Comida Latina as a runner-up in its 2026 ranking of the city's tacos. According to the Standard, the truck works two shifts: it parks near Fell and Divisadero streets in the early evening, roughly 6 to 9 p.m., and then moves to the front of the Emporium arcade bar, where it serves until about 1 a.m.

The guide praised the truck's cabeza tacos for their tender meat and large portions. It also reported that chef Andrew McCormick of the restaurant Early to Rise named Autentica as his favorite taco truck, and that managers of a nearby fast-casual taco chain were said to eat there rather than at their own shop.

Context

Cabeza, meat from a steamed or braised beef head, is a traditional filling at Mexican street stands and is less common in the city's sit-down restaurants. The truck's late shift outside a bar places it in the tradition of taco trucks that cater to San Francisco's nightlife. Sources do not give a founding date or owner.
