Baker's Drive-Thru is a fast-food chain in the Inland Empire that began as a hamburger stand in San Bernardino in 1952 and became known for serving both burgers and Mexican food, including tacos and burritos.

History

Neal T. Baker opened Baker's Burgers in San Bernardino in 1952, in the same postwar drive-in boom that produced the first McDonald's and Glen Bell's taco stands in the city. Three years later he added Mexican food through a Twin Kitchen arrangement with separate windows for burgers and for Mexican items, and a second store followed in Rialto. After his death his wife, Carol Baker, ran the company until she died in 2017, leaving it to the next generation. The chain hired executive Joe Amlani in 1986 to update the concept, added a vegetarian menu from 1995 and had 39 restaurants as of 2023, with corporate offices in Riverside.

Baker's serves hamburgers, fries and milkshakes alongside tacos, burritos and quesadillas, preserving the dual burger-and-taco format of 1950s San Bernardino that also shaped Taco Bell and Del Taco.
