Birria El Jalisciense

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Birria El Jalisciense was a weekend-only goat birria roast run by the Ramirez family at Olympic Boulevard and Spence Street in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles.

Overview

The Infatuation reported that the Ramirez family brought the birria tatemada method of Jalisco to Los Angeles's Eastside. The stand opened on Saturday mornings, accepted cash only and stayed open until the meat sold out. In a later update to its taco guide, Time Out stated that Birria El Jalisciense had closed and removed it from its list.

Goat was cooked in two stages, first braised and then roasted, producing tender meat with crisp skin. It was served with fresh tortillas or as tacos dorados, alongside a tomato-forward consomé. The stand appeared in The Infatuation's guide to the best birria in Los Angeles.
