Carnitas Los Chingones

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Carnitas Los Chingones is a street food stand on South Dacotah Street in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, that braises pork in large cauldrons each morning for tacos, tortas and burritos.

Overview

The stand is at 1365 S. Dacotah Street, on the Olympic Boulevard stretch of Boyle Heights that is lined with food stands and trucks. The Infatuation reviewed it in August 2025 and noted that the cauldrons of pork start cooking at 8 a.m. every day, making it a breakfast and lunch stop.

Carnitas go into tacos, tortas and burritos. The stand's signature is a chilaquiles burrito that wraps refried beans, griddled eggs, chilaquiles and chopped pork in a single tortilla, an item that earned it a place in The Infatuation's guide to the best breakfast burritos in Los Angeles. The carnitas method, slow-cooking pork in its own fat in a large pot, is associated with the Mexican state of Michoacán.
