Castacán

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Castacán is a Yucatecan-style taquería in Roma Norte, Mexico City, named for the crisp pork belly of the Yucatán and known for cochinita pibil and lechón tacos.

Overview

Castacán takes its name from the Yucatecan term for fried, crackling pork belly, one of its main fillings. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner with a large staff and is listed in the 2026 Michelin Guide Mexico. It is open every day, from late morning on weekdays and from 9 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Pork dominates the menu. Cochinita pibil, slow-roasted marinated pork, comes topped with pickled red onion, and lechón tacos feature roast suckling pig with crackling skin. Castacán itself is also served as tacos. Michelin praised the tortillas and the range of salsas, from fiery habanero to a sesame aioli and a mild yogurt sauce.
