Overview

Charlie's Tacos is a truck parked at the corner of York Boulevard and Eagle Rock Boulevard, in front of a CVS store. A 2025 taco tour by The Occidental, the student newspaper of nearby Occidental College, called it a staple of Highland Park.

Birria is the specialty, served as tacos, ramen, rolls, plates, mulitas and a crisp taco dorado. The writer's usual order was birria tacos with onions and cilantro, and she described them as possibly the juiciest tacos on her list. The truck also sells other meats. The writer had not tried the truck's other meats, a sign of how closely the business is identified with birria. Sources do not give the owners or the truck's founding date.
