Overview

Cilantros sits in a strip mall at 16533 Whittier Boulevard, at Valley Home Avenue on the Whittier–La Habra border. OC Weekly reviewed it in 2016, describing a modern but unpretentious room with soccer and Spanish-language television on a big screen and a menu with everything priced under ten dollars. It is not connected to Cilantros La Taqueria in El Centro.

Taco meats include carne asada, lengua, chicken, carnitas, al pastor, cabeza and campechano. Tacos come in several styles: Guadalajara-style street tacos, flour-tortilla "gabacho" tacos, a "chingón" taco with lettuce, cheese and sour cream, and protein tacos that use lettuce leaves instead of tortillas. Crispy potato tacos topped with sour cream and salsa verde stood out in the review. The kitchen also makes sopes, burritos with fried potatoes, breakfast plates and aguas frescas, including horchata and cucumber lemonade.
