Consuelito Carniceria

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Consuelito Carniceria is a Mexican butcher shop in Livermore whose late-night outdoor taco stand was named best overall experience in a San Francisco Chronicle survey of Tri-Valley taquerías.

Overview

The carnicería is located on Olivina Avenue, and its outdoor taquería set up in a nearby McDonald's parking lot. At the time of the San Francisco Chronicle's guide to Livermore and Pleasanton tacos by Nicholas Boer, published around 2014, the stand ran only from Thursday through Saturday, from 9 p.m. to midnight, and sold tacos for $1.50.

Recognition

Boer awarded the stand the survey's best overall experience, a nod to the atmosphere of eating late-night street tacos outdoors in a suburban setting rather than to a single dish. The setup, a butcher shop running a separate evening taco stand, made it unlike any of the restaurants and trucks it was compared against. Hours and prices come from the 2014-era review and may have changed.
