El Castillito
El Castillito is a small San Francisco taquería group whose best-known branch is at Church and Market streets near the Mission District, known for super burritos with meat grilled to order.
History
El Castillito has several San Francisco locations, but the Church Street shop in the Duboce Triangle, across Market Street from the Mission, is generally considered the flagship. Munchies included it in its guide to the city's essential Mission-style burrito shops.
Menu
The super burrito is the main order: carne asada, carnitas or al pastor is grilled to order and wrapped with melted cheese in a steamed tortilla, then foil-wrapped. Munchies praised the burritos' proportions. The Infatuation also points to a large enchilada plate with rice, beans, pico de gallo and guacamole, and a fish taco.
