El Chato Taco Truck

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

El Chato is a late-night taco truck at the southwest corner of Olympic Boulevard and La Brea Avenue in Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles.

Overview

LAist listed El Chato in 2015 among the city's essential tacos, noting that it opens in the evening and regularly draws lines. LosAngeles.com later described it as a Westside institution open until 3 a.m. Its corner location sits on a busy stretch of Mid-Wilshire between Hancock Park and Mid-City.

El Chato is known for carne asada and al pastor tacos topped with a chipotle salsa, sold at low prices. LAist described the tacos as inexpensive, at about a dollar each at the time, and noted that customers often wait in line once the truck opens. Its current hours have not been confirmed by a recent source.
