Overview

El Paisa is a tidy, compact taquería with a few tables on Avenida 20 de Noviembre. It is listed in the 2026 Michelin Guide Mexico, which calls it a good spot for tacos. It keeps long hours, from morning to after midnight, closes on Tuesdays and accepts cash only.

The menu is built on the two pillars of Baja meat tacos: adobada, pork rubbed with chile and spices and roasted on a vertical spit, and asada, beef grilled alongside green onions. Staff slice the meat straight into the tortilla in view of the customer, who then adds salsas, onion, cilantro and other toppings. Tortas are also served.
