Ferchaladas Birria & Mariscos
Ferchaladas Birria & Mariscos is a birria and seafood taco spot in Barrio Logan, San Diego, with graffiti-covered surroundings, picnic tables and a cash-or-Venmo policy.
Overview
Ferchaladas combines two of Southern California's most popular Mexican specialties, birria and mariscos, in an informal outdoor setting decorated with graffiti art and furnished with picnic tables. Barrio Logan, the historic Mexican-American neighborhood beneath the Coronado Bridge, is known for Chicano Park and its murals, and the shop's look fits that setting. It accepts cash or Venmo only. San Diego Magazine placed it on its 2025 list of the forty best tacos in the county.
Menu
The magazine highlighted a loaded tostada sold under an expletive-laced name and a shrimp and octopus taco on a tortilla dipped in birria consommé, a technique that crosses the seafood and birria sides of the menu. Dipping the tortilla in the fat-rich broth before griddling gives it a red color and a slightly crisp surface.
