From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen is a Mexican restaurant in Old Towne Orange that received a Bib Gourmand in the first Michelin Guide California in 2019.

Overview

Gabbi's is a sit-down Mexican restaurant on Glassell Street, the main street of Old Towne Orange. When Michelin published its first statewide California guide in 2019, Gabbi's was among the Orange County restaurants named first-time Bib Gourmand recipients, a category for good food at moderate prices; the same guide gave Taco María the county's first star.

Tacos

In 2011 Gustavo Arellano ranked its rajas con queso taco fifth among the ten great tacos of Orange County. The taco combines strips of roasted poblano chile with Oaxacan quesillo and crumbled cotija on a freshly pressed corn tortilla; Arellano noted that it was expensive for its size but considered it worth the price. Rajas con queso is a classic vegetarian filling throughout central Mexico, typically cooked with onion and sometimes cream.
