Haggo's Organic Taco

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Haggo's Organic Taco is a taco shop in the Leucadia area of Encinitas, in northern San Diego County, that uses organic ingredients, grass-fed beef and free-range chicken and avoids seed oils.

Overview

Haggo's builds its identity on sourcing. San Diego Magazine reported that the shop uses free-range chicken, grass-fed beef and organic produce, cooks without seed oils and uses a gluten-free batter for fried items. Leucadia, a coastal section of Encinitas along Highway 101, has long been associated with surf culture, and the menu reflects a health-minded beach-town clientele.

The signature item is the Costeau, a gluten-free fish taco usually made with halibut and dressed with a cumin-lime crema and mango salsa. The fried fish taco is the defining food of the Baja California coast and of San Diego's beach neighborhoods, and the Costeau adapts it to dietary preferences while keeping the basic structure of battered fish, a creamy sauce and a fresh topping. The magazine placed Haggo's on its 2025 list of the county's forty best tacos.
