La Cocina Antojitos Mexicanos
La Cocina Antojitos Mexicanos is a taco truck on Vineyard Avenue in Pleasanton that a San Francisco Chronicle survey of Tri-Valley taquerías ranked best overall and best al pastor.
Overview
The truck parks at 402 Vineyard Ave. in Pleasanton and, at the time of the survey, served only during the day from Monday through Saturday. There was no seating. In a San Francisco Chronicle guide to the tacos of Livermore and Pleasanton by Nicholas Boer, published around 2014, it took first place overall among ten taquerías and trucks, ahead of several brick-and-mortar restaurants.
Menu
The review singled out its al pastor, pork marinated in chiles and achiote, as the best in the two cities. Tacos were priced at $1.50 at the time, among the lowest on the list. The truck's name refers to antojitos, the Mexican term for street snacks such as tacos, sopes and quesadillas. Details come from the 2014-era review and may have changed.
