Overview

La Luna is at 1153 Rutherford Road in Rutherford. Visit Napa Valley's taco trail places it at a crossroads in the middle of the valley and says it is especially popular with winery crews at harvest time. The tourism bureau recommends both the regular and "super" tacos, served on stacked corn tortillas with fillings such as carnitas, carne asada and camarones a la diabla, shrimp in a fiery red sauce.

Details

Wine Spectator's Napa Valley Taco Tour recommended the al pastor and pollo adobado and noted that the store has picnic tables outside. Its website is lalunamarket.com.

Context

Rutherford is a small farming community surrounded by some of the valley's best-known vineyards, and La Luna functions as both grocery and lunch counter for the people who work them.
