Las Ahumaderas is a row of taco stands on Avenida Guillermo Prieto in Tijuana, serving tacos since 1960 and nicknamed Taco Alley.

Overview

Where The Road Forks describes Las Ahumaderas, at Avenida Guillermo Prieto 9770 in colonia América, as a strip of separate taquerías that have been serving since 1960, including Tacos Los Paisas, Tacos El Paisano and Las Tres Salas. Fillings include al pastor, carne asada, cabeza, chorizo, lengua, suadero, tripa and birria, plus vampiros, but no fish. The stands keep very late hours, into the early morning, and Anthony Bourdain ate there in 2012 for his series No Reservations.

Context

Tijuana's taquerías are known for adobada carved from the trompo, carne asada with guacamole, and birria, and many stay open late.
