Lito's Mexican Food
Lito's Mexican Food is a daytime Mexican restaurant just off Milpas Street in Santa Barbara, California, described as one of the city's longest-running family-owned Mexican restaurants.
History
Visit Santa Barbara lists Lito's among the oldest family-owned Mexican restaurants in the city. Its pork posole was featured on the Food Network program Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, which raised its profile beyond the neighborhood.
Menu
Lito's is open during the day and is known for breakfast burritos and for tacos filled with tri-tip, fish or carne asada, in addition to its posole. The tourism bureau places it on the Milpas Street leg of its taco trail, a couple of blocks from Los Tarascos bakery. That stretch of Milpas Street, on the city's Eastside, holds one of the densest concentrations of taquerías in Santa Barbara, including La Super-Rica and El Bajío, and Lito's is one of the few stops on that stretch that the trail describes as a daytime-only restaurant.
