Los Cotijas Taco Shop

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Los Cotijas is a taco shop with locations in Garden Grove and Tustin, known for fried fish tacos with a milky white sauce.

Overview

Cotija is a town in Michoacán that gave its name to the region's crumbly aged cheese. OC Weekly's 2015 county taco guide listed Los Cotijas outlets on South Euclid Street in Garden Grove and East First Street in Tustin and recommended the fried fish tacos with their secret milky sauce. The guide, compiled by Gustavo Arellano, Edwin Goei, Charles Lam and Dave Lieberman, grouped the two shops together as a single Garden Grove and Tustin entry.

The fish taco follows the Baja style popular in San Diego: fried battered fish on a corn tortilla with cabbage and a thin white sauce, usually a blend of mayonnaise or sour cream thinned with milk or lime juice.
