Los Mero Mero Sombrerudos is a taquería in Oaxaca City's Trinidad de las Huertas area serving tacos al pastor, carnitas and castillo.

Overview

Uncornered Market, a travel blog whose Oaxaca food guide dates from 2013 with updates through 2022, lists the taquería at Universidad 112 in Fraccionamiento Trinidad de las Huertas. The authors wrote that meat is grilled at the front of the shop and that staff hand out tasting samples to undecided customers. No more recent source confirming the business was found.

The guide names tacos al pastor, carnitas and castillo, the last being the authors' favorite. The guide does not describe what the castillo filling consists of.

Oaxaca de Juárez has its own taco culture built on local ingredients such as tasajo (thin salted beef), cecina enchilada (chile-rubbed pork), chorizo, quesillo and chile de agua, served alongside the tlayudas and memelas the state is known for. Street carts are not allowed to operate in the city on Wednesdays, although the rule is often relaxed on holidays.
