Mariscos El Pulpo

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Mariscos El Pulpo is a Baja-style Mexican seafood restaurant in San Diego, known for octopus dishes and seafood tacos made with fish caught off Ensenada.

Overview

Mariscos El Pulpo was described by The Daily Aztec, San Diego State University's student newspaper, in 2013 as a restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter on Market Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues, with a plain exterior and a Baja-themed dining room. Its name means 'the octopus,' and the menu carried many octopus dishes.

The paper reported that most of the fish came from waters off Ensenada, Baja California, with deliveries every two to three days. The menu listed quesadillas, burritos, ceviche and seafood cocktails, an octopus taco al ajillo, a chipotle shrimp taco and fish tacos sold at a discount on Taco Tuesdays. The bar, called the Reef Bar, poured draft beer and many tequilas. The source dates from 2013, and the restaurant's current location and status are unconfirmed.
