Taco Pinto

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Taco Pinto is a taco stand in the lot of a gas station at West and Shaw avenues in Fresno, California, opened in 2019 and known for shrimp tacos and its pink house sauce.

History

Taco Pinto opened in 2019 in the parking lot of a Kwik Serv station. Fresno's Taco Truck Throwdown, an annual contest started in 2011 by the Fresno Grizzlies minor-league baseball club, brings trucks to the ballpark where fans and a judging panel pick winners. It took the Judge's Choice award in its first year and again in 2021 and 2025, and won People's Choice in 2024, according to Fresnoland.

Shrimp tacos are the best-known item, alongside asada, adobada, fish and vegetable tacos. The menu extends to carne asada fries, burritos, fried fish burritos and grilled shrimp quesadillas. Most customers douse their orders in the mild, slightly sweet pink Pinto sauce; a habanero sauce is available for more heat.
