Tacolicious

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tacolicious is a small Bay Area chain of taco restaurants that began as a taco stand at a San Francisco farmers' market and grew into several locations, including one in downtown Palo Alto.

History

According to KQED's Bay Area Bites, Tacolicious started out as a taco stand at a San Francisco farmers' market before developing into a local chain of sit-down restaurants. By 2017 it had a location on Emerson Street in Palo Alto, which KQED included in a guide to favorite taco spots south of San Francisco. Its prices sit above those of a typical taquería, and it adds specialty cocktails and local beer to the taco menu.

The restaurants describe their food as California-style tacos alongside regional Mexican specialties. Fillings listed by KQED include Baja-style fried cod, shredded chicken in mole, house-made chorizo with potatoes, and a signature beef braised with guajillo chiles. The guajillo braise and the chorizo-and-potato taco are the items most associated with the brand.
