Tacomania

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tacomania is a South Bay chain of taquerías and taco trucks, with a location on Coleman Avenue in San José, serving street-cart-style tacos.

Overview

KQED's Bay Area Bites described Tacomania in 2017 as a local South Bay chain with several locations, some of them taco trucks. Its Coleman Avenue restaurant, near downtown San José, kept hours from late morning until 11 p.m. daily and was included in KQED's guide to six favorite taco spots south of San Francisco.

The tacos follow the street-cart model of small corn tortillas, onion and cilantro. KQED highlighted al pastor served with fresh pineapple, as well as chorizo, brisket and cabeza (beef cheek). The chain thus straddles both formats, with trucks and storefronts operating under the same name. Details come from the 2017 guide and may have changed.
