Tacos Charly
Tacos Charly is a suadero and al pastor taquería in Tlalpan, southern Mexico City, recognized with a Michelin Bib Gourmand since the guide's first Mexican edition.
Overview
Tacos Charly is one of the few Michelin-recognized taquerías far from the central neighborhoods, in the largely residential borough of Tlalpan. It has held a Bib Gourmand since 2024, and visitors are advised to arrive early or expect a wait. Texas Monthly reported in 2024 that the staff were still adjusting to the crowds the award brought.
Menu
Suadero is the house specialty. The beef is first confited and then simmered in water, which keeps it especially juicy. Al pastor is carved at its own trompo station, sliced very thin and finished with a little rendered fat. The menu also includes longaniza, lengua and sesos. The taquería opens in the afternoon and closes on Sundays, and it does not take cards.
