Tacos David is a taquería in the Veracruz–Boca del Río area, founded in 1975, known for brothy Veracruz-style pibil tacos.

History

Tacos David was founded in 1975, according to La Silla Rota, which in 2021 described it as having served locals for more than forty years and as having come through the difficulties of the pandemic. That article placed it on Avenida Valentín Gómez Farías in the port of Veracruz. A 2022 La Silla Rota list located it on Calzada Costa Verde, and Jarochos en Línea in 2023 mentioned branches in the center of Boca del Río and on Calzada Costa Verde.

The house specialty is pibil in the Veracruz manner, which the sources describe as caldoso, or brothy. Jarochos en Línea also lists empanadas, beef tacos and menudo on weekends.

The port of Veracruz and neighboring Boca del Río form a single metropolitan area whose taquerías range from market stalls and tacos de guisado to al pastor trompos and Veracruz-style pibil and barbacoa.
