Tacos de Cortés y la 2 is an evening al pastor taquería in the 21 de Abril neighborhood of Veracruz, named for its street corner.

Overview

The taquería takes its name from its location on Avenida Hernán Cortés, almost at the corner of calle 2, in colonia 21 de Abril. La Silla Rota reported in 2021 that the current owners, who were not named, had been running it for twenty years, and that it is open from late afternoon until after midnight.

The specialty is al pastor carved from the trompo and wrapped in papel de estraza, the brown butcher paper used by many street taquerías. A 2022 La Silla Rota list also mentions alambres and tostadas.

The port of Veracruz and neighboring Boca del Río form a single metropolitan area whose taquerías range from market stalls and tacos de guisado to al pastor trompos and Veracruz-style pibil and barbacoa.
