Tacos Domingo

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tacos Domingo is a charcoal-grill taquería in Mexico City's Centro Histórico that sells meat by weight.

Overview

Food and Pleasure lists Tacos Domingo at Plaza Carlos Pacheco 5 in the Centro. Meats such as carne asada, pork chop and rib are grilled over charcoal (al carbón) and sold by 200 grams, half a kilo or a kilo, with tortillas. The menu also includes a volcán, a torta árabe and charcoal-grilled spring onions.

Context

Selling grilled meat by weight, as in a northern carne asada, is uncommon in the Centro, where most stands sell by the taco. Food and Pleasure included it among taquerías favored by locals. Plaza Carlos Pacheco lies in the western part of the Centro, near the Balderas area. Meats are served with tortillas for building tacos at the table.
