Tacos El Patrón

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tacos El Patrón is a birria-focused taquería on South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco's Mission District, with a second Bay Area location in Pleasant Hill.

Overview

Tacos El Patrón specializes in birria, the chile-braised beef of Jalisco, served as large, cheese-filled quesabirria tacos with a cup of consomé for dipping. The Infatuation's San Francisco guides describe its tacos as well stuffed and juicy and include it in their list of the region's best birria tacos.

The business also operates in Pleasant Hill in Contra Costa County, and The Infatuation's general San Francisco taco page lists it among the city's notable taco stops for the same quesabirria.

Quesabirria tacos are griddled with melted cheese until the tortilla crisps, then dunked in the braising broth. El Patrón's menu is built around that format, with birria also available in other preparations.
