Overview

Tacos El Vampiro is located at 12737 Glenoaks Boulevard, Unit 27, in Sylmar in the northern San Fernando Valley. L.A. TACO, in a 2022 roundup of vampiros around Los Angeles, said the shop sells dozens of them a day, browning the cheese until it is crisp before adding the meat, and offers an extra-crisp tripita as a filling.

Vampiros

A vampiro, a specialty of Sinaloa, is a tortilla griddled until stiff and crunchy, usually layered with melted cheese and topped with grilled meat and salsa. The dining guide Pearl describes Tacos El Vampiro as a family-owned, counter-service shop whose signature is the vampiro with cabeza, along with mulitas and extra-crisp tacos de tripas, and lists its Instagram account as tacoselvampiro. Sources do not give a founding date or the owners' names.
