Tacos La Estrella is a taco truck in Highland Park, Los Angeles, on York Boulevard, known for carnitas, lengua, al pastor and cabeza tacos and covered by L.A. TACO since 2006.

Overview

Tacos La Estrella is a truck serving the Highland Park and Eagle Rock area of northeast Los Angeles. A 2025 taco tour by The Occidental, the student newspaper of nearby Occidental College, placed it on York Boulevard past Avenue 53 and described a beef-and-pork menu, with carnitas and lengua among the favorite orders, praised for low prices and consistency.

History

L.A. TACO wrote about a Tacos La Estrella truck as early as December 2006, describing a large blue truck with chrome trim and pastor, carnitas and cabeza tacos, with a taquero figure painted by artist Raul Balthazar. That post listed a location on East 1st Street, and it is not clear from the sources whether the trucks share ownership. Owners and a founding date are not given.
