Overview

El Fénix is a streetside kiosk clad in white and red tile, with a few stools at the counter and two side tables. It was among the Ensenada taco stands named in the first Michelin Guide Mexico in 2024 and is listed again in 2026. It opens early in the morning and serves through the early evening every day.

The signature is the taco de pescado. Fillets are battered and fried in one corner of the prep area inside the counter, then served plain on a tortilla so that each diner can add cabbage, crema, salsas and other garnishes. The format follows the Ensenada fish taco tradition of minimal plating and abundant condiments.
