Overview

Tacos Mimi is located at 4508 Cass Street in Pacific Beach, a beach neighborhood better known for surf-town fish tacos than for traditional taquerías. The San Diego Reader featured it in its 2018 roundup, in a section on tacos that feed body and soul, and again in its 2019 taco issue, where it was praised for its range and its handmade tortillas.

The 2019 menu described by the Reader ran from carne asada, birria, al pastor and pollo asado to three styles of shrimp, three vegetarian tacos and a battered Baja-style fish taco. All are served on corn tortillas pressed by hand. In 2019 prices ran from about two and a half to just under four dollars a taco, putting it in the inexpensive end of the beach-area market.
