Tacos Polo Sur
Tacos Polo Sur, formerly Tacos Polo, is a Tijuana taquería on Avenida Revolución founded in 1991.
Overview
The San Diego Reader dates Tacos Polo to 1991 and places it at Avenida Revolución 1928 in the Zona Centro, in a spacious warehouse-like building with a grill at the front and side parking. The business had recently added Sur to its name, at one point traded as Los Mejores Tacos, and has a second location in Playas de Tijuana. The paper also repeated a local legend that customers with a tattoo of its logo eat for free.
Context
Tijuana's taquerías are known for adobada carved from the trompo, carne asada with guacamole, and birria, and many stay open late. Carne asada grilled over mesquite or charcoal is the backbone of Tijuana's taquerías.
