Tacos Sinaloa
Tacos Sinaloa is a family-run taco business in the East Bay that operates food trucks in Oakland, most prominently on International Boulevard, along with a storefront in Berkeley. It is known for late-night service and for its shrimp, fish and al pastor tacos.
History
The business dates to 1999 and presents itself as a family owned and operated restaurant and food-truck operation. Its best-known truck has long parked at 2138 International Boulevard, on the stretch of East Oakland around Fruitvale and the Rancho San Antonio area, while a brick-and-mortar outpost opened on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley. Hoodline repeatedly placed the International Boulevard truck among Oakland's most popular food trucks between 2018 and 2019, and in 2022 KRON4 listed it first in a roundup of the Bay Area's most highly reviewed taco spots.
Menu and service
The trucks are associated with late hours, a cash-only policy and lines of customers, many of whom eat in their parked cars since seating is limited to a few tables and benches. Shrimp tacos dressed with salsa, serrano chiles and pickled carrot are a signature, as are crisp carnitas, al pastor and fish tacos. The menu also runs to burritos, including a fish super burrito, tortas, seafood plates and horchata. Visit Oakland notes the truck's reputation as a favorite stop of Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry.
