Tacos y Charolas Catiel's

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tacos y Charolas Catiel's is a taquería in Querétaro's historic center known for adobada, griddled pork belly and the taco rey of diezmillo with panceta.

Overview

CódigoQro listed Catiel's at Regules 1A, at the corner of Francisco I. Madero, in the Centro. Its slogan, as reported by the site, is a rhyme to the effect that a taco that closes up is not a real taco, a nod to generously filled tacos. Tacos come in a normal size and a macizo (loaded) size, and charolas, trays of mixed tacos, are discounted on Thursdays.

The taquería is known for adobada (chile-marinated pork) and panceta cooked on the plancha. The taco rey combines diezmillo (beef chuck) with panceta and guacamole salsa.

Querétaro's taquerías draw on styles from other regions as well as local ones; CódigoQro noted in 2022 that several of the city's best-known stands advertise the taco flavor of Arandas, a town in the Altos de Jalisco, and the city's markets and side streets also hold many tacos de guisado and gordita stands.
