Taquería Gabriel

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Taquería Gabriel is a taquería in colonia Cuauhtémoc, Mexico City, with a menu spanning adobada, birria, lechón and shrimp.

Overview

Chilango lists Taquería Gabriel at Río Sena 87 in colonia Cuauhtémoc, near Paseo de la Reforma. The menu covers many meats: adobada roasted on a trompo, beef birria, lechón (suckling pig), shrimp and mushrooms, served as tacos, volcanes or burros, along with appetizers. It is open daily from lunchtime to midnight.

Context

Chilango included it in a list of thirty taquerías every Mexico City resident should know, a selection weighted toward neighborhood places outside the usual tourist circuit. Adobada and burros point to the influence of Baja California, where those terms are standard. Its broad menu sets it apart from single-specialty stands.
