Taquería Revolución
Taquería Revolución is a family-run South Bay taco shop with locations in San Ysidro, Bonita and Otay Ranch, known for birria, cactus tacos and recipes from the owner's mother.
Overview
The San Ysidro shop sits at 362 East San Ysidro Boulevard, a short distance from the border crossing. The San Diego Reader reported in 2019 that the business is run by owner Emilio and that its recipes come from his mother, Hilda Vallejo. At that time he operated three South Bay locations and was planning a fourth in Hollywood. A Bonita location in a strip mall and an Otay Ranch shop were also listed by ABC 10News.
Menu
Birria is the dish most often recommended, including a queso birria taco with melted cheese. The menu covers carne asada, pollo asado, carnitas and adobada, and the Reader called out the taco de nopal, a vegetable option built on grilled cactus. 10News highlighted the marinated meats and the salsas that go with them.
