Taqueria Vallarta
Taqueria Vallarta is a late-night taquería on 24th Street in San Francisco's Mission District, long frequented by restaurant workers after their shifts.
Overview
Vallarta has been a mainstay of the 24th Street corridor and a late-night refuge for the city's hospitality workers. In the San Francisco Standard's 2025 survey of restaurant professionals, a local chef named it her after-work taco stop, singling out the suadero and lengua.
The Standard's 2026 follow-up was less enthusiastic, describing the shop as once reliable and noting dry suadero on that visit, but Vallarta remains one of the best-known names on the street.
Menu
The taquería serves a broad menu of tacos on corn tortillas, with suadero (thin-cut beef cooked in fat, a Mexico City specialty) and lengua (beef tongue) as its most recommended fillings.
