Tito's Tacos
Tito's Tacos is a walk-up taco stand on Washington Place in Culver City, California, founded in 1959 and known for American-style hard-shell tacos.
History
Benjamin Davidson founded Tito's in 1959 with business partner Benny Vizcarra, who helped develop the menu. The stand accepted only cash until 2016. It appeared in the 1989 film Gleaming the Cube, and in 2016 it won a trademark dispute with a Vermont taco stand, which changed its name. The Infatuation calls it one of Culver City's most recognizable food spots, with long daytime lines at the walk-up counter.
Menu
Tito's serves crisp hard-shell tacos heaped with shredded beef and grated cheese, along with burritos, notably the bean and cheese burrito, and a cup of shredded cheese sold on its own. Its thin red salsa is a fixture of the order. The Daily Meal ranked the bean and cheese burrito first on a 2015 list of the best burritos in America, according to Wikipedia.
