Tlayudas México 68

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tlayudas México 68 is a casual tlayuda and taco place in the Olímpica neighborhood of Oaxaca City, known for a giant taco made from a tlayuda.

Overview

Dónde Ir places the business on Avenida México 68 in colonia Olímpica, the avenue that gives it its name, and describes the setting as informal. It appears in both a 2021 Dónde Ir guide and the 2026 taco guide of Oaxaca Travel Tips.

Tlayudas come with arrachera, ribs or a mix of the two, and the same meats are offered in tacos and tostadas. Oaxaca Travel Tips highlights the tacobijado, an oversized taco built from a folded tlayuda and filled with what the menu calls queso loco.

Oaxaca de Juárez has its own taco culture built on local ingredients such as tasajo (thin salted beef), cecina enchilada (chile-rubbed pork), chorizo, quesillo and chile de agua, served alongside the tlayudas and memelas the state is known for. Street carts are not allowed to operate in the city on Wednesdays, although the rule is often relaxed on holidays.
