Trejo's Tacos

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Trejo's Tacos is a taco restaurant on South La Brea Avenue in Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles, owned by and named after actor Danny Trejo.

History

Danny Trejo, known for the Machete films, opened the original Trejo's Tacos on La Brea Avenue after several months of soft openings and closings; The Infatuation reports that he worked through local zoning hurdles to open it. The building, a former auto repair shop, was remodeled into a dining room with communal tables and a patio. The Infatuation's Taco Tuesday directory notes that it offers discounted tacos and drinks, with vegetarian options.

Tacos include a fried Jidori chicken taco and a steak asada taco with toasted pepita pesto. Other dishes include a grilled shrimp tostada, guacamole with pistachios and street corn with chipotle cream.
