Tury's Tacos is a taco stand behind the Border X brewery on Logan Avenue in Logan Heights, San Diego, run by a taquero who started out in Mexicali.

Overview

The stand operates at 2181 Logan Avenue, set up behind Border X Brewing. The San Diego Reader's 2019 taco issue reported that Tury had been in the taco business for 24 years, beginning in Mexicali, the Baja California capital across the border from Calexico. The space includes a yard with lawn games, and Thursday nights brought live music.

Fillings named by the Reader include chicharrón, chorizo and carne asada. A signature item is the vampiro, a toasted tortilla or tostada topped with grilled meat and melted cheese, a format popular in northern Mexico. Tacos sold for a discounted price on Tuesdays in 2019, and the Reader also listed Border X among the city's atmospheric taco settings in 2018.
