Zona Rosa is a Mexican restaurant in San Jose known for handmade tortillas and mole negro tacos.

Overview

Time Out's 2021 guide to Mexican food in San Jose placed Zona Rosa at the top of its list. The guide said the restaurant makes its tortillas by hand and highlighted tacos filled with mole negro, the dark Oaxacan sauce of dried chiles, spices and chocolate, as well as chiles rellenos. At brunch the kitchen offers dishes such as carnitas Benedict, and the restaurant served bottomless mimosas.

According to Time Out, Zona Rosa won the San Jose Mercury News award for best taco in 2018.
