Overview

Birria el Moreno is at Del Ángel 244 in Valle del Ángel, Puebla. When Revista 360 Grados profiled it in 2021, it had been at that address for sixteen years. It began as a small shop and, according to a worker named Paola who spoke to the magazine, had grown to selling about 250 kilos of birria. The article praised the food but noted slow service.

The specialty is birria in the style of Jalisco: meat stewed in a seasoned chile broth until tender. Tacos are served with a cup of the cooking broth on the side, a format that has spread well beyond western Mexico.
