Cariñito Tacos

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería
Also known as: Cariñito

Cariñito Tacos is a Roma Norte taquería in Mexico City that combines Mexican taco formats with Southeast Asian and Cantonese flavors.

Overview

Cariñito is not a traditional taquería. Diners order at a white-tiled counter facing an open kitchen and eat outside, with each taco made to order. It has been listed in the Michelin Guide Mexico since 2024 and appears in the guide's selection of the best tacos in Mexico City. The bar pours natural wine and a house vermouth.

Tacos borrow from Thai and Cantonese cooking. A Cantonese taco wraps confit pork belly with hoisin, sriracha and pickled cucumber in a flour tortilla, and a siu yuk taco pairs crisp roast pork with nam jim jaew and pickled vegetables. Plates are replaced by dried corn husks. Eggplant and cauliflower tacos provide vegetarian options.
