Craft Coast Brewery & Taco Stand

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Craft Coast Brewery & Taco Stand is a brewery and taco counter in Oceanside, in northern San Diego County, known for tortillas made to order, birria and carne asada.

Overview

Craft Coast pairs a craft brewery with a taco counter. San Diego Magazine's 2025 survey of local chefs' favorite tacos included it on the recommendation of Roberto Alcocer, chef of the Michelin-starred Oceanside restaurant Valle, who pointed to its made-to-order tortillas, birria and carne asada.

Pressing tortillas to order, rather than reheating a stack made earlier, gives a softer and more aromatic tortilla. Birria, the chile-braised meat stew from Jalisco, has become one of the most popular taco fillings in Southern California, typically served with consommé for dipping. Carne asada, grilled and chopped beef, is the staple of San Diego taco shops. Oceanside sits at the northern end of San Diego County, beside Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
